George W. Banks Scholarship

Through George W. Banks’ upbringing and experiences, he knew the importance of Christ, a strong family, and a quality education. Throughout his life, he was afforded various opportunities to travel the world and see the fruits that life had to offer. Seeing the strength, massiveness, and togetherness of the Banks, Gregory, and Powell family, he introduced and created a scholarship for those family members wanting to attend college. As a result, in 1992, efforts were initiated to incorporate The Banks, Gregory, Powell Scholarship Foundation.

The Banks, Gregory, Powell Family is committed to academic excellence. Through the efforts of the Banks, Gregory, Powell Scholarship Foundation, many members of this family will benefit and will make substantial contributions to society. Since the passing of George Banks, the scholarship was renamed as the George W. Banks Scholarship.

The purpose of the George W. Banks Scholarship foundation is to raise, receive, invest, deposit, and distribute funds to members of the Banks, Gregory, Powell Family for educational advancement.
